The fantastic and mesmeric new series " In the Night Garden " aimed at the 1-4 age group has been created by Anne Wood and Andy Davenport, the team behind, surprise, surprise, the" Teletubbies ".
In the
Night Garden can be described as a sort of visual nursery rhyme book and features lots
of characters based loosely on toys, living together
within a happy, loving and caring community.
Like the best type of childrens stories, in the night garden takes children on an imaginative journey
and during each episode children will eexperience
a variety of interesting and unique spaces and
characters and will be drawn to make their
own connections amongst them.
The
in the night garden community is filled with a
group of diverse characters that interact, care
and look out for each other in different ways.
They do this, even though they all seem to have
substantial differences in their individual sizes.
Every character has their own special song and dance, with the most noticeable
characters in this respect being Igglepiggle and
Upsy Daisy, due to their emotional
and comic interaction.
